The Challenger Division at Granada Little League offers children and teens with physical and intellectual disabilities the opportunity to experience the joy of baseball in a supportive, structured environment designed around their abilities.
While players learn the fundamentals of the game, the true impact of the Challenger Division goes far beyond baseball. Participation provides meaningful social interaction, therapeutic benefits, increased self-confidence, and the opportunity to be part of a team. Players experience the values that define Little League; teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play all in a setting where everyone belongs.
Our Challenger athletes play on the same fields and use the same equipment as other Granada Little League teams. They experience the excitement of being part of a team, hearing cheers from the stands, and celebrating their accomplishments with awards and recognition.
The Challenger Division ensures that every child in our community has the chance to play, grow, and feel the pride that comes from being part of Little League. Games are played on Sunday afternoons from 1:30-2:30pm. Come cheer for our Granada teams & enjoy a snack from the World Famous Snack Shack!
Who can participate in the Challenger Program?
The Challenger Division is open to all boys and girls with physical or mental challenges. We have our Challenger Littles, ages 5-17 and our Challenger Seniors, ages 18 and up.
How can I sign up to be a Buddy with a player?
Each player needs a buddy for support during the game. Please sign up on our sign-up genius link here. We ask that you wear close-toed sneakers and bring a baseball glove! We prefer high-schoolers and adults as help, but we will take age 12 or 13 as our youngest volunteers. It's important that you are attentive in the game for the line drive hits, and that you can offer assistance should a player need support running, batting, or fielding.
